Candidate Statement

My name is Adam McLane. Many in Mariposa County know me as “Farmer Adam” — a family farmer, business owner, and community advocate who has built a livelihood from the ground up. Every day, I manage limited resources, balance budgets, and solve problems creatively. Those are the same practical skills I believe county government should use to better serve District 1.

I’m running for Supervisor because I’m optimistic about our future. I believe local government works best when it’s transparent, fiscally responsible, and focused on delivering real results for working families, small businesses, and rural residents. My priorities include careful financial stewardship, strengthening support for small businesses, building up local housing, improving wildfire resilience, and protecting the rural character that makes our community special.

As a farmer, I understand stewardship of our land, natural resources, and our community. I’m committed to listening first, collaborating widely, and making thoughtful decisions that reflect the needs and values of District 1 residents.

I’m ready to bring grounded leadership, fresh energy, and common-sense solutions to the Mariposa County Board of Supervisors.
